[SunHELP] Slow newfs 36GB HD - Solaris 7

Improving the speed of formatting UFS partitions was one of the
enhancements Sun specifically mentioned for Solaris 8, they made a big
deal about exactly the scenario you describe.  Guess they were right!  ;)
