They support the drive, not the "kit" - the drive was
actually very popular for a while, my HP Omnibook 800s
have built-in SCSI (nice ;^), and these were the
supported CD-ROM drive for these units... Mine are
re-badged units (Panasonic models w/HP logo/model
number).

I never tried mine, it would be *very* cool if it does
work...
