I get this too. Disk spins down, but almost immediately spins back up
again. Never did find out why it's doing it. Can't seem to get it to
stop doing it either - kinda bad for the disk I guess.

Also never got to the bottom of the screen brightness never changing
(key presses change the hardware value but screen brightness stays
the same).
