  Development work *shouldn't* go into 10, IMO; it is feature-set-stable
and is being used as such.  People who want bleeding-edge "new Solaris
features" are running 11.  People who "need that machine to never ever
go down" are running 10 or prior, from what I've seen.

  While Linux has grown up nicely, and even I depend on it now for
desktoppy things, the PC hardware on which it runs best is still a joke.
 Having to move away from Solaris in the datacenter due to lack of
hardware support, or the production software base (BIND, MySQL, Apache,
etc) diverging farther away from compilability will suck, but given
Oracle's user-hostile attitudes, it will likely be unavoidable.  I give
it 3-5 years.

  You and me both.  Trouble is, Oracle has never been very good about
listening to their customers.
