Here's Mine:

First video game: An early '70s Pong knockoff (it had 3 games and was
quite cool for the time)

First computer used: An unknown mainframe/mini at Moorhead State in
Minnesota (at an NSF program I attended)

First computer owned: An Atari (unkown model number) in about 1983

First computer I really got into: IBM PCjr (I know), about 1986 -- I wrote
a big, ugly, inefficient Cartridge Basic program to analyze statistics and
player cards for Strat-o-matic baseball (I played in a league at a bar in
Lincoln)

First Sun used: an SS20 called corona.unomaha.edu that slowly died. The
last time I tried to log in, it still had my account information but I had
no home directory because that disk had died.

First Sun owned: an SS2 (since upgraded with an Axil board and given away)

First SMP machine: SS20 with HyperSparc 125 CPUs

Favorite machine: Probably my Athlon 900 Linux machine at home (at least
it's what I use the most for non-work stuff)

Biggest machine: a 16 machine Qnx 4.2 cluster (using Arcnet) that I was
helping to program as an instrument flight trainer. Currently, a Athlon
1.3GHz machine I use for development at work. Soon, a cluster of 9
PIII-500 machines that I am setting up at home.

Best OS for development (non-GUI): Qnx 4.x (the networking is great)

The Worst OS for development: anything used on a project requiring a GUI.

Current development process: If the users want a Windows program, give
them a web-based program running on a *nix server.
