Most machines don't seem expandable enough. All 4 PCs here are maxed on their
PCI slot expansion. I could easily see swamping an SBus sun if I tried to
use one for a workstation. I mean, 4 processors is a must. Then, you need
a nice video card (ala the Fujitsu board). Add a FDDI card, and you are
out of slots, and we haven't even begun to talk about a serial card, video
capture card, or the fact that another 2 scsi cards are required.

Or, an I^2. Add a Max impact card and an FDDI card and the personal video
card, and you no longer have room for things like a fast raid controller (how
else are you to play the video files fast enough) or compression card, or
anything like that.

Of course, PCs seem to be the worst. Just try to find a machine that allows
you to add a nice graphics card (requiring 2 slots), a FC-AL card, an ethernet
card, a nice video card (a loaded Perception requires 3 slots), a pro level
sound card, an internal scsi card.

That is why getting machine with features on the mother board (which none of
my PCs have) is so important.
