Nice if you have the network available.  Some folks don't, necessarily,
and in that case, floppy boots are a lifesaver.  Most floppies just need
some TLC to make them work correctly.  I thought BigBlue invented the
floppy (8 inchers) for their early mainframes/mini's about 1970ish?
Although floppies can be a pain in the rear compartment, they still can
be quite useful.  I am currently trying to bring up an old VAX off
floppies, for some real retro fun....(:+}}...
