Sebastian,
This section of the SS2 Field Service manual describes LED flashing
(http://docs.sun.com/htmlcoll/coll.690.1/iso-8859-1/SS2FIELDSVC/fsm.chapter2
.html). I'm afraid it doesn't specifically address the Caps Lock flashing
continuously. But it might be useful to review.

This note from the SPARCstation 5 Service Manual is probably relevant
(http://docs.sun.com/ab2/coll.208.1/SMSS5/@Ab2PageView/1495?Ab2Lang=C&Ab2Enc
=iso-8859-1).
--------------
Note:
The Caps Lock LED is not used as a failure indicator; it blinks on and off
to indicate that the POSTs are running. The keyboard LED diagnostics feature
described here applies only to a SPARCstation 5 system with a Sun Type-4,
Type-5, or Compact 1 keyboard connected to its keyboard port. The LED
diagnostics do not apply if a different Sun-supported keyboard is connected
to the keyboard port, or if a terminal and its keyboard are used as a main
console instead of a monitor and a Type-4, Type-5, or Compact 1 keyboard.

This from the U2 manuals
---------------------------
Table 3-2 Keyboard LED Patterns

Caps Lock Compose Scroll Lock Num Lock Bit Value Meaning of
Pattern
Blink Off Off Off x000(2) POST in
progress

I think its waiting on something to respond in the POST sequence. Try
removing SBus cards and clean/reseat memory. Console will provide a
significant list of diagnostics on TTYA if you pull the keyboard. Wish I
had the magic bullet...

Subject: [SunRescue] SS2 -- blinking caps lock?
Importance: Low

Hello,

I got an SS2 (with PowerUp! Yeah!) that, when I turn it on, flashes all
the LEDs on the keyboard once, and then the caps lock LED flashes
continuously (once or twice a second.) The machine doesn't boot, and
doesn't display anything on its cgsix. Any ideas?

Real Programmers don't need comments -- the code is obvious.
