I avoid the 'paying off' bit.  My present car cost me 250UKP last year (14 
years old) and has  got several years left yet :)

OTOH we are still paying for our 'best' bike and will change it next year as 
soon as it is paid for, but it will be about knackered by then anyway as it 
has done 30,000 miles in it's first 2 years.
