That sucks, dude... but first, most people turn off

The market is slow and the market is tight. But for
those with decent experience and a good head on their
shoulders there are places which seem to be hiring.

You can always take things by the horns, start your
own consulting firm and do 1099 stuff. Imagine going
back to your old company as a consultant at twice your
former pay (that's kind of a cliche, but work with 
me here.)

Abuse dice.com, monster.com and other sites.

I take it relocation is an option?
