You have to be very careful and check the Intel site on any Core 2 chip you're looking at. I have an E8400 that has the VT extensions and a 7400 that doesn't.

I'm guessing HP Microservers don't have the minerals for doing virtualisation
in hardware? I don't know the AND side but I'm guessing you mean something
like Intel VT-x ? Most Core2 stuff does VT-x afaik.
