I've been looking at a similar situation at home and have chosen to go
with Zoneminder and D-Link 910 network cameras.  They aren't wireless but
they are supported by Zoneminder and have fairly decent quality video.

If you don't mind dedicating a box to the process then I'd consider
Zoneminder running on Linuz with PCI capture cards (not the PICO cards as
they only get 2fps) and regular infrared coax cameras.
