Good deal, I think I'll order XP one, i just got quotes from our sales 
rep, it's a $40 difference between identically configured XP and ubuntu 
options.  Interestingly, the quotes list it as the inspiron 910, not the 
inspiron mini 9.

Don't think it matters to me, i asked around and don't know anyone 
ordering a laptop now, and probably only applies to the base model mini 
9, not what i have in mind.  It could easily be channel-related, as I 
work for a Dell reseller and am getting my info that way.
