Well. With an "air suspension" you can get the same comfort but with
less complexity at a lower cost. Citroen is the only user of this
principle, out of "tradition". Every other company uses "air
suspension" or the classical steel suspension. I would say the current
hydropneumatic suspension is just marketing. And "Hydractive" is a
separate system, independent of other car systems like the breaks. The
true, old hydropneumatic integrated the breaks and the servo steering.

Hmmm. The only car from that list I know a bit closer is the Golf. There
where several generations of Golf. Every generation was a completely new
car with completely new technology. AFAIK the DS had three major
revisions, but it still was mostly the same car, design and technology.
