Short cases are good for mounting in two post racks, which take up much
less room in the basement than the usual four post. :)

Had i not just spent my money on parts for a homebuilt rackmount server,
that machine would be pretty attractive to me.

I'm using my old desktop's motherboard, processors, and memory with a
3ware raid controller from ebay, four new 500gb SATA drives, and a four
drive hotswap drive cage in an older rackmount case i've had laying
around for years. Lots of storage, little $$$. It's replacing a 12
drive, quad pentium pro monstrosity, and will probably pay for itself in
lower electric bills within a year while giving me 5-7x the storage space.

Now i just need to find a deal on a mac pro for a new desktop. :)
