Chrysler's electronic 545RFE 5-speed auto + 3.77:1 rear axle.

They were never available with a stick in the US.

Injection isn't retarded, they actually use pre-injection as part of the
fuel-injection process.

The VM CRD is actually quite a bit cleaner than the old Renault
indirect-injection stuff, a large part it is due to the high pressure
(~22kpsi) in the fuel rail.
