Pete,

Public school was pretty good when I went, but I watch these kids today and
it makes me sad/angry/disgusted.

For example - we have a High School and Middle School that are across the
highway from town. The HS kids think its funny towalk acros the highway
against the traffic light (when it says "Don't Walk") and watch the tractor
trailor driver honk their horn as they drive through town.

Another was the time I saw a high school kid walk halfway into the
intersection without looking - had his walkman on and didn't realize he was
crossing a highway.

And the moms all complain about how dangerous the intersection is - how we
need to get rid of the tractor trailers!

In the 70's and early 80's public school was much different than today, or
atleast the kids were...
