Works fine, unfortunately if you follow the
instructions it doesn't (makes sense - right <grin>)?

The default cygwin install doesn't install all the
pieces you need for xfree86 to work.

Go back and install cygwin again - but this time stop
at the screen that shows what pieces are to be
installed - the screen looks like a listing with a
bunch of "+" or something like that  (don't have it in
front of me)><

Explode the various pieces & you'll see that thay
really don't get installed - they're disabled by
default.

This includes most network utils as well as things
like telnet.

Once you work through all of that - Xfree86 will
install and it will work like its supposed to....

It took me 3 or 4 times to get all the bits &
pieces...
