Hi gurus,
I have an HP LaserJet III printer which
I want to connect to my ss10 who will act as a print server.
I cant find an affordable Sun cable anywhere
( Micro HD26 to Centronix or DB25) so I decide
to buy the HD26 connector from a local cable store.
It is already connected on a 25 conductors cable so
I buy little female terminals that I crimp and solder to
the 25 little wires... Then I plug the 25 little female terminals
into a db25M ( Standard DB25 to centronix cable - tested with a PC )
Following these Pinouts :

Heres what the ss10 say when I try to print :
sun2# cat /etc/hosts > /dev/bpp0
cat: write error: No such device or address
After that I installed "SUNvts" which contain the program "bpptest"
sun2# ./bpptest
03/15/03 20:19:19 sun2 SunVTS4.6: VTSID 4000 bpptest.WARNING bpp0:
"Printing test not performed!" Probable_Cause(s): <Printer not attached>
Did I forgot to enable something in the kernel to be able to use my parallel
port ?
After all this work, im really pissed off now..
Can anyone help on this one before I put back my crappy Intel Freebsd
box on the network because it has a db25 parallel port ?
