Nonono -- it's just that there's a section of an RC script
[/etc/inti.d/inetinit] that goes looking for the /etc/notrouter file, and
simply skips a big chunk of code if the files doesn't exist. In this case,
it's the code that wants to set up routing between two interfaces. (Obviously,
it goes on to check whether you _have_ two interfaces, but...)
Which reminds me: you can often comment out or excise bits of the RC
scripts that do stuff you don't want, but you may be better off finding out
shortcuts like this one.
