I have an E6500 working with the last release of Solaris 7. At this time, 
the server is having a high cpu utilization and memory while an application 
intensive in read/write is working.

Can be possible reach some improving in performance modifiying the following
variables in the /etc/system?

set priority_paging=1
set maxpgio=25468
set slowscan=500
