[SunHELP] making a multipart archive out of really large files

Hoping this isnt too basic a question for this list.

I am on a 2.6 system, needingto make an archive larger than 2 gigs, and I
thought pax would work for this, but I cannot seem to figure out how to do
this. If anyone has any recomendations as to how this can be done, either by
way of multipart archives, or circumventing the 2 gig limit, Iwould greatly
appreciate it.
