I'm trying to create a 630 Gb partition on X86 Solaris 2.8 and have been
getting the following error:
"Solaris fdisk partition not found"
"No fdisk solaris partition found"
This is when I run the fdisk option of format. I've tried to specify
cylinders then select option 4 (update disk config and exit). Getting
the same error.
I've gone as far as selecting the type option and specifying cylinders,
heads and so on. It seems I'm running into some limitations I was
unaware of in the OS. For example, I can specify no more than 64 heads
and 32000 cylinders (about 32k I believe). So I'm left with
manupilating sectors per track.
The device shows up as:
cylinders 14783, alt 2, hd 255, sec 63
I appreciate any thoughts on where I can go from here..
Thx
Frank Carreiro
