[Sunhelp] Out of ports when printing?

Can't seem to find an easy answer so here goes...

If I send a large number of print jobs to a remote print server using lpr
one right after another, it starts giving me errors after 508 of them every
time.  I believe I'm running out of ports. Does this sound right?  Can I
increase this?
