I recently saw a similar "plaid" pattern on my Tadpole P1000G when I tried a
couple
of new memory sticks.  The new memory was larger than the old memory and
was,
I think, clobbering the video memory.

This maybe comparing apples to oranges but, did you recently change your
memory?
