Are you getting the boot monitor text to come up on the LCD?
Have tried re-seating the RAM?

Re-check the LCD display connections to the motherboard to make sure
you don't have anything crossed. There are two connectors and wire
bundles. One connector is shorter than the other. There should be
exposed pins to the right of the front connector, if it is properly
seated on an 3XP. A 3GX display fills both connectors.

There is also a connector in the 3XP LCD panel that I have had
problems with in the past. I believe it is to the left of the display
when it is disassembled. Try take that apart and reseat it.

If all else fails I have a spare working display I could sell you, or
will buy yours system for parts if you give up.

Good luck,
Gary

> Hey all. It's been a while since I used to post as KraKXL at mail.owc.net,
but since then, My SB has worked on it's own for a while...
> OK nitty gritty, A while back, I went to power her up, The green light
flashed , as did the screen, and then nothing. It wouldn't stop doing this
for a while, so tadpole suggested that My "Input power" Circutry could be
bad.
> So like a dummy. I used the notorious sparcbook surgery page to dissaseble
the old girl to see what was afoot. Well I know very basic electronic
science, so this was not the paramount of good ideas. Well, Anyway, long
story short, now the damn thing powers up, reads from the ole' HD, and all
pause- _ combinations seem to work (It's STOP A!! PAUSE IS NOT STOP!!!) but
plugging her into an SVGA and depressing the screen lock switch... thing
with a toothpic yeilds a black monitor. THe sparcbook when alowed to send
output to the standard screen makes a nifty black and white plaid pattern on
the screen. Did I cross poles when I plugged the screen back in or
something? did I euthenize My SB Friend? Does anyone want to buy a parts XP
and or a floppy for the same? Thanks all, I got in over my head quick.
