Yes.  Many of the X and Y registers have a Z register, which
superficially does nothing, alongside them; I can only assume that the
default projection matrix projects along the Z axis.

I once spent a little time trying to get 3D out of a cg6, but never got
anywhere.  If you figure anything out, I'd love to hear about it.
