I've never seen "the other way", but can't see any reason it couldn't
be done in theory.  Most boxen with SCA bays, though, don't have a lot
of physical space to tuck an adapter in, at least not in my (admittedly
limited) experience.  I've got a few adapters for putting SCA disks on
various other types of connectors (2x25 .1" header, 50-pin
high-density, and 68-pin high-density are the ones I remember).

While it's not much help for a VAXstation, I have more SBus HVD SCSI
cards than I'm ever going to need, so if you have HVD peripherals you
want to connect and an SBus machine available, I can fix you up with a
card easily enough.
