I'll be running netbsd, VMS is just not my cup of tea.

What OS do you intend to run?

Yes, the system has one narrow single-ended SCSI bus.

Any 50-pin single-ended SCSI disk will work. No 50-pin differential SCSI
disk will work. Some 68-pin disks (single-ended or LVD only, not
DIFF/HVD) may work, if you get an adapter that properly terminates the
high ID bit and upper data lines. Single-ended and LVD SCA disks will
work with an appropriate adapter.

Your OS may limit the size of disk you can use. I haven't powered up my
4000/60 in a while, but I'm fairly sure it has a 4GB disk in it with
OpenVMS installed.
