NetBSD. 3.0 has accelerated X11 and -current improved this a bit. Given
that NetBSD runs well on a SPARCstation 1 you can expect to get a quite
efficient system. I went that far as instaling KDE on a 300 MHz U2
running NetBSD to get konquerror as a usable web browser. (Firefox still
doesn't run on NetBSD/sparc(64), but thats firefox fault.)
