I have done some reading and apparently, at least under HPUX 9.x, the
HP 735 et al. has very low context switch times, much lower than Sparc
SM-71 and others of that ilk.  Only Qnx and HP Real Time OS beat it.

That might account for the zippiness.  Also they supposedly have a
good memory subsystem.
