I will be doing mostly non-textured cad and such things. From quick
tests the Elite3D feels much slower than our junky Windows machines
at school. I've pretty much decided that I will be taking a Unix
machine to college in September and would like to run a few games on
it, so texturing is important. Plus I would like to teach myself
OpenGL and do texturing. This is where my main complaint with the
Elite3D/Creator3D is, it seems that a non-TRAM SGI won't be able to
do textures fast enough for what I want either. So I'd really like a
site where I can compare benchmarks for the various options. I'm
leaning towards a HP C3600 with some sort of nice FX graphics but I
really wanna know how it performs vs what I have and Octanes.
