[rescue] Sun GT Support in SunOS/Solaris?

Mine came up just fine as the console framebuffer when I plugged it into a 
sparc 2 (although I tore it down and cleaned the hell out of it before firing 
it up for the first time...)

I hooked mine to a GDM1962B and a GDM20d10, both worked fine for me.

The Solaris 2.5 "SPARC: Installation Notes" manual says at the start of 
Chapter 5, "EOL Statements" (page 37): "GT: The GT graphics device is no 
longer supported in the Solaris 2.5 operating system."

did you do a 'boot -r' and check your dmesg output?
