I wouldn't call a CPM machine any more real than a machine that booted to
basic in rom.  For one thing, there were quite a few machines that did
both.  My first computer did both.  It was a Toshiba T100, booted either
basic or CPM.  I played games and wrote programs in basic, and did word
processing in CPM.  Had two 5 inch drives.  It had 16 color graphics.
Don't know what resulution or how much memory though.
