That doesn't seem too bad to me - your definition of "only a
workstation" looks loaded:

 Dual framebuffers
 Two Gigabytes of RAM
 Three SCSI HDs
 (You forgot to mention the normal compliment of fans!)

I think the 347 Watts sounds reasonable to me... Where do you think all
that heat comes from? ;^)
