It must be an age thing, when I was 32 I thought nothing of driving a 
1000 mile day! Now at 44 I look at 500 miles as a long trip! But then 
of course, one of my most often used lines these days is from Danny 
Glover in the original Lethal Weapon "I'm too old for this shit"

While I'm starting to approach A most of my miles (and I'm pretty sure 
I've got over a million miles under my belt) were from C) Cab driver. 
back in the day I had lots of 700 mile days, although 250-300 were more 
the normal day

And being called Sir is almost as bad! (unless you're in England, and 
it's an official title!)

So true. Anyone who tries to keep a 'proper' following distance on any 
of the NYC highways would have to be driving in reverse! Of course back 
in my younger days (back in 1980 when I lived in Manhattan for a year) 
one of the things I used to love doing with one of my neighbors was to 
race from harlem to battery park all on local roads (no highways), 
something that no sane person should try :)
