It was one of those situations. Before we got married I decided to
set a goal of going back to college and getting my degree. This was going to
be a 7 year plan(which I completed successfully in may. YA!) the first part
was me doing something about my math ability, which is what got me dumped
out of school. I started back to school at the local community college
taking math classes. Started back at pre-calculus I and then worked my way
up and through calculus II before I went back to my original college.
In order to pass these classes, ones I had trouble with in the past,
I studied my ass off. Before the test I would come home early from work and
spend at least a couple of hours of studying before every test, this was on
top of doing homework for two hours minimum a night. I would come home and
sit at my desk for three or four hours not talking, working problems as fast
as I could to get the core concepts in ram memory in my head. The ex would
sit and be watching TV after she got home. I would get up to head out the
door to go take the test , as much as I could crammed into the ram in my
head for quick dumping to the test. She would stop me EVERYTIME and start an
argument with me. The usual " I don't know were this relationship is going"
"Why didn't you do X" that sort of stuff. Things that could have at least
waited for three hours when I got home from taking the test.
So I go to take my tests and I am pissed off and worried and beat
down before I even get their, and that is all on top of my already existing
worries about being able to do math. Of course the storage in my RAM in my
head got dumped in the argument as I had to pull things from drive storage
in order to defend myself and their was no time before the test to reload as
she had made me late. My life is much better with her gone needless to say.
