[SunHELP] disksuite configuration

   Hi,

Can anyone advise me on whether the following disksuite configuration
   is suitable (and sensible....)

I have been tasked with re-configuring disksuite on an E450 with 12
   disks -

   1 x 33GB
   9 x 18GB
   2 x 9GB

Original set up was as follows:

   33GB boot disk
   logical volume (d10)consisting of 4 x 18GB disks.

Customer wanted both the boot disk and the volume to be mirrored, by
some combination of the existing disks.

   I have done the following:

Created new boot disk on 1 x 9GB disk, and mirrored it with the other
   9GB disk.

Changed the disktype of the 33GB disk to that of SUN18G using "type"
option from within format. I then copied the partition table from one
of the 18GB drives being used for the logical volume to this disk.

I copied the same partition table onto the remaining 4 x 18GB disks
and created new submirror (d20), and then the mirrored volume (d30).

   From /etc/lvm/md.tab:

   d10 5 1 /dev/dsk/c0t2d0s0 1 /dev/dsk/c0t3d0s0 1 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s0 1
   /dev/dsk/c2t1d0s0 1 /dev/dsk/c2t2d0s0
   d20 5 1 /dev/dsk/c3t3d0s0 1 /dev/dsk/c3t2d0s0 1 /dev/dsk/c3t1d0s0 1
   /dev/dsk/c3t0d0s0 1 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0

Have attached the submirrors to the mirror and the it is currently
   resyncing.

Can anyone advise if there is anything I need to be aware of by
carrying out the configuration in this way.

   Many thanks,

   Nigel
