For the 25...

It's possible that the "required patch is not applied" refers to something
layered on something else (a package or even a patch) that isn't
installed. An -05 patch for the FDDI driver will fail if you don't have
the FDDI driver installed.

Also, realize that the recommended patch clusters are not guaranteed to
work or to be optimized. If you want optimal results and the highest level
of performance and compatibility testing, you want the MU or Maintenance
Update. Recommended patch clusters are just the current set of public
patches for an OS release, and as the README files say (or used to, at
least), they are NOT tested for interop between patches.

Look at the descriptions for the patches that failed, and see if they're
obvious.

If they're all failing, look at the log file for the install_cluster (it
should give you the path and name after it runs) and see if it gives a
known error. Oh, and make sure you got the right platform. I bet
installing an intel cluster on a sparc would give lots of non-obvious
failures.
