Hi,

I'm sorta new into this Unix environment. Mostly my background comes from
NT and linux.
I recently purchased a Sparc 20 to work with and have Solaris 7 on it. It
appears
that alot of the video options were dropped in Solaris 7, like support for
off sun video
cards. I'm looking for any information as to the differences between 2.6 and 7
I have a 1meg video card now and it seems from what I've heard that the on
board one
doesn't support the VSIMM slots in the latest version. So I'm thinking of
buying a secondary
Fujitsu 24bit 28meg card, however it is not supported in 7 or 8 (basically
any 4m version).
Or a Rasterflex-32 (8meg version) Am I going to fix one problem and create
another one by
going backwards to 2.6 ?? is there any significant reason to stay with 7..
and if so how do I
go about fixing my video problems ?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can

Dave Lewis
