[SunHELP] How to Install 2nd NIC and assign IP to it

As what I know, you can add one or more gateway on /etc/defaultrouter, you
just need WHITE space to separate them. Currently I have machine with two
NIC cards with two different gateways on /etc/defaultrouter, and it works
fine.

The installation and configuration of the second NIC is actually quite
simple. You simply put the NIC into the system, boot up and do the
following:

1) create a /etc/hostname.hme1 (assuming this is hme, and not qfe (quad
fast
ethernet) and insert a hostname
2) modify the /etc/hosts file and insert the hostname used above and the IP
address
3) modify /etc/netmasks to insert the new netmask

You can only assign one default gateway (/etc/defaultrouter) to the system.
If you need another gateway, you would need to insert a line into the
inetsvc RC script to run the route command.

Cheers,

Warren
