Has anyone got any insight on this problem? I really can't get this =
machine going unless i can solve this problem. Is there a resource or =
tutorial that can help me figure out the old PROM monitor by myself =
even?

Subject: [SunHELP] having trouble installing netBSD on sun 4/470

  Hello,
I just recently acquired a Sun 4/470 system without an OS, and I =
was trying to install netBSD 1.5 from a multiboot CD and unfortunately =
I'm having no luck. The CD-ROM drive is the original furnished Sony =
drive, and I'm controlling through a terminal on ttya.=20

This machine is not equipped with openboot, so i'm installing from =
sunmon. When I give the boot command for CD, something strange happens.

  >b sd(,30,)

  gives back the answer

Illegal Instruction error 0x000060C3 at 0x0000004000

and returns me to the boot prompt. Could the machine be trying to boot =
the PC kernal, since the PC kernal is working on the disk? If so, is =
there any way to give path information on the sunmon command line?

If not, is there anyone who could point me in the general direction of =
a bootable ISO image, not a full install, but just enough to gain me =
access to the rest of the CD? I'm limited to dialup access and a 650 meg =
download is _just_ a little too much.

  Thank you,
  Mike Free
