Actually no but this is because the cards are being used for failover/fault
tolerance purposes.
The situation is that HME0 is the primary, if it fails traffic gets shifted
to QFE0 and there's
also heartbeat traffic between QFE3 and QFE7. The idea is that if we lose a
whole QFE the failover keeps things going.

I assume you have firmware set to local-mac-address?=true?
If not each card will have to be on a segment of the network which
does NOT see the other segments. (Same MAC addresses)
