[SunHELP] Telnetd

Can anyone help me please?

I have an E450 (production server) on which telnet has been enabled via
/etc/inetd.conf, yet telnet wasn't started the last time the server was
rebooted.
I have tried to run the sighup command against the pid of /usr/sbin/inetd to
no avail.

Is it possible to manually start the telnet daemon (/usr/sbin/in.telnetd)?
If so, how?
