[SunHELP] RE: SunHELP digest, Vol 1 #930 - 13 msgs

Hi Sergio,

Use the following command to find the alternate super blocks.
#Newfs -Nv /dev/rdsk/c2t0d5S6 . Run this on raw partition.
The output of this will be a groups of numbers which are all the super
blocks starting with 32.

Then you can choose any other number and run fsck using the following

#fsck -o b=3D32 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d5s6.

Thanks
Regards
Vinod

It's telling you to use a backup superblock.

# newfs -N /dev/rdsk/c2t0d5s6
# fsck -F ufs -o b=3D[ superblock number from newfs output] =
/dev/rdsk/c2t0d5s6

Try this:

#!/bin/ksh
# This script will check each UFS filesystem to see if it is over=20
# 75% full.
#
for i in `df -n | awk '{print $1}'`
do
   if [ `df -k $i | tail -1 | awk '{print $5}' | sed s/\%//` -gt 75 ]
   then
print "$i is over 75% full. Please check the filesystem."
   fi
done

You can add "mailx" to the script to have it send an email to the =
sysadmin
if a filesystem is over 75%.

Is "kdc" a subdomain (or NIS) which your UNIX machine knows about?

Is there connectivity between the UNIX box and the resolvers?

you need to add the following to your resolve.conf:
search kdc.xxxx.com xxxx.com

Andrew,

In the resolv.conf file, the first line should be:

	domain	yourdomain.com

This way when you try to resolve hw3c3363, it will know to resolve
hw3c3363.yourdomain.com.

Cheers,

Warren
