I take it you are trying to compile qmail? Try setting "GCC = 
/location/of/GCC; export GCC". Most packages now come will check for both CC 
and GCC. If that does'nt work than "CC = /localtion/of/GCC; export CC" may 
work.

I have'nt tried it with qmail, but these tricks have worked with other 
packages

I am trying to install qmail on my system ,which i believe insists on cc
,may be because of some settings
with gcc i think i will have to some settings?
