Yes, you will need at least 2 metadatabases, and at least 2 on each disk,
the system needs to find more than half of the replicas inorder to boot.

Those databases is were disksuite keeps its information, so you need them :)

format:
prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0s2 | fmthard -s - /dev/rdsk/<newdisk>s2
