You could try manually mounting the cdrom instead of using volume management.  Kill volume management by running /etc/init.d/volmgt stop them do a mount -F on the cdrom device.  Or you could try loading the first part of Oracle then killing volume management, hit the eject button on the cdrom, then put in you're next oracle cd and then restart volume management.
