[Sunhelp] Shutting down a port on a Sun box

If it is a process that opens the port such as /usr/lib/sendmail -bd, then you need to kill
that process, go into you rc*.d directories and find the startup script that starts the
process during boot.

If it is an inetd type port that starts then applications when connections come in on a
certain port then you can go into your /etc/services and you inetd.conf files and delete the
entries that correspond to the port you wish to close.

Never used digital UNIX, but would imagin the process is similar since these are more of
*NIX than Solaris specific.

Hope this helps.
