[Sunhelp] changing NIC

Hi guys,

Sorry for asking you off topic. Its related to FreeBSD. I guess some of you
Solaris guru can help me out here.

I have Intel based FreeBSD 2.2.5 machine. It was 3com 509 card installed.
Now I change it to 3Com 905. But the system didn't show the card by
'ifconfig -a' command.
It should be 'vx0' for this card.

I tried to reconfigure the kernel. I guess I am not doing proper
configuration. I also edit '/usr/src/sys/compile/MYKERNEL/config.c ' file
and added 
'device ........................................... '
irq --> 10,   io addr -> 0x300  ...

what I am doing wrong >? any idea ?
